My first novel was released  on June 30th 2018. It’s a post-apocalyptic barn-burner.

A surprisingly large number of mental illnesses are biochemical, and respond to chemical treatments. They are chemical imbalances in the brain, which means they are genetic. We don’t understand why they express at a given point in life. A twenty-five year old who develops paranoid schizophrenia always had that in his DNA, but it awaited some trigger to activate it.

What if we all have something, some genetic predisposition to madness, lurking in our DNA? Those of us who make it through life sanely maybe just never encountered the right chemical or environmental trigger to express it.

Viruses are little genetic engineers. What if one of them could unlock the genetic predisposition we all carry? What if it happened all at once, globally?

It would be a Mad World…

A world gone mad: Four weeks after a plague has swept the world – a virus that unlocks the genetic insanities that lurk in all of us. The epidemic affected everyone, the entire human race gone insane. Now the incapable mad – the catatonic, depressed, schizophrenic – are dead. The only ones left are the functional insane. Megalomaniacs, psychotics, those whose insanities are adaptive in this new world, roam the land, preying on the weak. A small band of survivors who believe themselves still sane fight for survival and the chance to build a better life. But are they really sane, or are they just deluding themselves?

Mad World is available on all major online eBook retailers, including iBooks and Amazon. Soon in paperback!
